Body Massage

We massage ourselves  every day and our natural reaction is to reach out and touch a painful part of the body, such as a pulled muscle. This forms the basis of masage which is one of the oldest forms of healing around. Touch is a very important part of human contact as it helps us feel connected and loved by those around us.

The basic goal of massage therapy is to help induce relaxation and eliminate tension and stress brought about by our daily living.

It is also found to have other health benefits, working on the mind as well as the body. It can help  reduce symptoms of high blood pressure, sinusitis, head-aches, insomnia and hyperactivity. It can help with depression and stress.

Massage is intended to help the body make use of food and to eliminate the waste material, as well as stimulate the nervous and musclar system.

Swedish and Holistic massage uses the same movements as was developed by Sir Henrick Ling. these techniques or movements are known as, drumming, friction, stroking and kneading and can be used together or alone.

Treating the person in a holistic way and dealing with the person as a whole, massage, is not just looking to treat the symptoms, but to establish the cause with the aim to rebalance the body so it achieves ‘homeostasis’ or balance.
