Reflexology

Reflexology or as it was first known, Foot Acupressure has been widely used throughout the Orient for thousands of years. It became popular in the early 1900 in the western world. Dr. William Fitzgerald developed the modern zone theory arguing that parts of the body corresponded to points on the feet. He also proved that applying pressure to one of the areas it ‘Anaesthetised’ a corresponding area of the body. In 1930 Eunice Ingham mapped the entire body onto the soles of the foot.

How It Works
Reflexology is thought to work by affecting the flow of vital  life force throughout the system. A complete healing network of energy carrying channels is said to terminate in the feet. At one end of each channel is an organ, gland, or other bodily area.
At the other end, in the foot is an acupressure point. Life force moves along these channels like electricity to and from its various terminals.
When life force moves either too quick or slowly along these channels, the organ or bodily part malfunctions, symptoms soon follow.
When a point is stimulated it appears to at least temporarily restore a more normal or balanced flow of energy.

Reflexology is said to help ease the sympthoms of many different ailments within the body, mind and spirit.

Some of the most common ailments are, Allergies, anaemia, arthrits, asthma, back pain, bronchitis, colds, cramps, earache, eczema, fainting, fatigue, hay fever, depression and stress.

Reflexology is non-evasive and very relaxing.
